President’s Volunteer Service Award (PVSA)

At VFW Post 3063, we are honored to be a certifying organization for the prestigious President’s Volunteer Service Award (PVSA). This award, created by the President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation, recognizes individuals and groups who have dedicated significant time to volunteer service in their communities.

UPDATE 5/27/2025 - PROGRAM PAUSED

As decided by AmeriCorps and effective immediately, the President’s Volunteer Service Award program is on a temporary pause.

What is the PVSA?

The PVSA celebrates volunteers of all ages who have demonstrated a commitment to serving others. Whether you’re involved in local organizations, schools, religious groups, or civic initiatives, your efforts can count toward earning this distinguished award. The PVSA is awarded at various levels — Bronze, Silver, Gold — based on the number of hours volunteered in a 12-month period. The highest honor, the President’s Lifetime Achievement Award, is given to individuals who contribute more than 4,000 hours over their lifetime.

Certifying Organization for the Entire Community

At VFW Post 3063, we believe in the power of service, not just within our post but throughout the entire community. As a certifying organization, we can certify your volunteer hours even if you’re not directly volunteering with the VFW. Whether you’re helping at a local food bank, mentoring youth, or participating in environmental cleanups, your service is eligible for certification through us.

We’re here to support veterans, families, and anyone in the community who is passionate about giving back. By partnering with VFW Post 3063, you can earn the PVSA while continuing to serve causes that matter to you.

How We Support Your PVSA Journey

As a certifying organization, VFW Post 3063 will:

  • Assist in tracking and verifying your volunteer hours across a wide range of activities.
  • Submit your application for the President’s Volunteer Service Award.
  • Present the award at a special recognition ceremony, celebrating your commitment to service.
